Buddhism Gone Wild

by in Beauty Archives

Buddhism is becoming fashionable again.

The Dalai Lama was in Seattle just a few weeks ago; engravings by Japanese sculptor Shinjo Ito surfaced in Chelsea in February; and celebs like J Lo and Kate Bosworth are staunch aficionados of the religion.

So why not try a cute, inspired Buddhism DVD for education and cocktail party conversations? Anna Wilding, a New Zealand-born actress and producer, created a charming tale of Buddha Wild: Monk in a Hut that’s available on Amazon.com for $29.

A commentary on their lifestyle, comestibles, zest and cheer for life (think Cheshire Cat meets the Pope), the DVD inspires, educates and entertains.

Note: it was filmed in a Buddhist section of New Zealand, but a lot of Thai-inspired attributes are there.

She recently screened the DVD at Tibet House In New York (Uma Thurman’s father, Robert Thurman, is a co-founder and president of this inspired place).
