Everyone knows Kira Plastinina. At least everyone who is immersed in fashion.
Well, the house is no more in the U.S. It filed for bankruptcy today after announcing last month that it would close almost all of its 12 stores.
Having more debt than assets, the company owes its creditors $54.4 mllion with only $9.7million to its name.
The brand name and stores were a present to daughter from billionaire Sergei Plastinin. He spent more than $80 million to set up the stores. No doubt this is a loss for all the fans of Kira, who has been featured in every major magazine for her talent and marketing genius.
