One of the most interesting backstage visits I’ve had during Fashion Week was Tuleh. The makeup was done by Polly Osmond for MAC Cosmetics, and she created a defined, smoky look for the eye, and a sheer black matte lippie. “It’s a very 1930s look,” she says. “With smoky, dusky colors, and a plumy lip. We used eyeshadow in Copperplate (a nice gray color), mascara, lipstick in Black Knight…all these dark tones complement the clothes which have a lot of purple.”
The team used Studio Sculpt Foundation and invisible powder to mattify the face. The lip ends up having a sheer black stain.
The hair was done by Barex, and hair stylist Louise O’Connor of Salon OC61 says, “The look is very Alfred Hitchcock heroine (think Grace Kelly).” To achieve this, the hair was parted into several sections and curled with a curling iron and pinned to give it wave and definition. After the curls were unpinned, the hair was tucked into a loose, elegant bob.
The hair team used Barex Volumizzante Spray to build volume and to reduce static and frizz. Then they applied Barex Gloss Shine Spray which is a light-reflecting spray to add instant brilliance and to give weightless shine. Then they used Barex Tricolife Serum to seal split ends and give hair a smooth look.
