A sea of celebrities with gorgeous hair and Marchesa gowns were gathered at the Gansevoort Hotel in New York on Thursday evening. The reason? Well, apart from celebrating three days of torrential downpour in Manhattan, these denizens of the world (who included Ali Larter, Shannon Doherty, & Olivia Palermo) were celebrating the new issue of InStyle Hair, a special issue completely devoted to tresses – on sale May 9th.

“The look I created for Ali emphasizes how naturally healthy and vibrant her hair is. I started by spritzing hair with Root Awakening Detangling Spray, then blow dried in sections using a natural bristle brush to maintain her hair’s own health and shine. I finished the look with a styling crème to add polish to her naturally sleek, full hair.”
The event was at the Gansevoort Penthouse, where models wore gorgeous Marchesa gowns and guests received complimentary hair makeovers by John Frieda stylists.
