If the day of supposed romance is a conundrum wrapped in a blanked wrapped in Balderdash for you – fear not. The ever magical, always-up-to-mischief Robert Verdi shared some of his very creative tips for you to romance your loved one (or future loved one, even though he or she may not know it yet) on February 14th.
Here are some ideas:
- $50 Date Idea: Classic Date – Dinner from the local pizzeria and the current chick flick.
- Give her a coupon book for a monthly date night and allow her to choose something new and exciting each month. Make each date special and unique!
- Place a single piece of chocolate in all of her usual places on the morning of Valentine’s Day to make her ordinary moments special – by her dressing room jewelry case or even her coffee cup!
- $100 Date Idea: Find a local spa to get a side by side couples massage.
- Invite your date over for a pre-dinner drink but instead of going out, surprise your date with a candle-lit dinner in an UNUSUAL part of your home (even the bathtub..why not?)
- $200 Date Idea: Mystery Date-Trip: Give your sweetie a guide in advance instructing her to bring clothing and accessories but leave the actual destination and activity a surprise.
- Write a hand written love note.
- $500 Date Idea: a romantic stay-cation. Surprise your date with a key to a hotel suite where you have placed romantic flowers, sexy lingerie and a bottle of champagne.

From Jane M:
Dinner from the local pizzeria and the current chick flick – how typical and boring.
Women want something romantic, exciting and out of the ordinary, this is too predictable and not creative.
