Carousel Strands Straight Away Pro Cordless Flat Iron

Carousel World\'s First Cordless Flat Iron

I was always scared of flat irons. Cobwebs, haunted houses, the Bogey Man –all of them couldn’t hold a candle to the fear I experienced when thinking of using a flat iron to straighten my hair. Let’s put it this way: I generally shy away from all heat-related appliances (including blow dryers — I try to air dry my hair as much as possible to enhance longevity).

Yes, I know, it’s an irrational fear (almost as irrational as the fear that you’ll get a zit from eating dark chocolate or cooties from kissing a dog on the nose). But luckily, Carousel Strands’s Straight Away Pro Cordless Flat Iron (yup, it’s cordless, and yup, you can stow it in your pocketbook) was the first flat iron I learned to fully trust and not fear. Because it’s easier than using the ABACUS, people!

When you first get the flat iron, you’ll need to charge it (it’s easy – just a couple of hours will do the trick). Then, see those three buttons up there? Those are all you need. Press the button that says “ON” and press it again to activate the temperature. The ceramic plates are coated with Tourmaline (which means they won’t singe your strands and fry your cuticle), and in a very short amount of time, the temperatures can reach up to 260 degrees and 410 degrees Fahrenheit (you can see the temperature changing rapidly before your eyes on the screen – see below).

To open the flat iron, you’ll have to turn that silver knob to the right. It’s a neat way to open and shut the cordless Straight Away Pro which weighs literally next to nothing.

The neat thing about this flat iron is that it REMEMBERS (unlike the movie Memento, it doesn’t do a patchy, skittish job. It actually remembers the last temperature you used and automatically increases until then – you can increase or decrease the temperature as you like).

AFTER FIVE MINUTES OF USE. EASY AS HOOKED ON PHONICS!

This sleek device is powered by a Lithium-ion battery with an aluminum heater and retails for $135. I would recommend anyone who loves a portable flat iron to get it (if you want red carpet hair you’ll need all the chic styling tools you can lay your stylish paws one, from your trusty rusty drugstore Conair Ceramic Ionic Blow Dryer, your Redken Gelatine Velvet Styling cream and your Carousel Strands Straight Away Pro…heck of a good team and almost like the Saints).

Duuuude I love that its cordless and you charge it! I have a baby flat iron and the cord always annoys the crap out of me.

I had a fear of flat irons too, it wasnt bad but I was just worried that my hair would literally started to burn :| I try to let my hair airdry these days, but thats more out of laziness and the fact that its summer so I cant bare the thought of blasting myself with hot air.

You are absolutely right, flat irons give me such a fear too – yeah, isn’t that pesky cord annoying? What a pain in the neck! Oh but this one is so worth it that I’ve given up using anything else. Seriously!
