Natasha Bedingfield Concert for John Frieda & Contest

by in Beauty Archives

John Frieda had a field day last Thursday when the brand hosted a concert by Natasha Bedingfield and treated us to a day of styling and unveiling new products. The concert by Natasha exceeded my expectations in every way.

First, the space was pretty intimate – I expected a typical rock concert venue (MSG-size) but instead, the venue had a cozy, more speak-easy feel. While not a die-hard pop junkie like several of my beauty blogger friends, I definitely knew a few of her songs (I’ve Got a Pocketful of Sunshine & Unwritten were songs that even my pop-clueless hubby knew, so I felt I had leg up, for a change).

Her voice is so strong. Natasha wowed the audience with both her intimate numbers (Wild Horses was a really soulful, extremely moving rendition; as was Never Find a Love Like This). I loved these songs as much as I did some of her popular songs.

I also had a chance to meet the gorgeous blond pop star, whose beauty quite took my breath away!

What’s Natasha’s secret to her incredibly volumized, blond as fine silk hair? Why, John Frieda products, of course. She had her hair styled by the sexy and magical Harry Josh the same day with some of their new styling products (don’t worry, we’ll give you a peek of those products soon).

Natasha says she loves to put a little talcum powder in her hair to give it some volume, and to also make it a little less oily. “Blond hair tends to get oily by the end of the day, and I love to put talcum powder,” she says. She also loves her MAC lipstick.

Now, there’s a chance for you readers to be ON STAGE with Natasha Bedingfield. Yup, you heard correctly. John Frieda is creating a Sheer Blonde Entourage contest for a chance to win a guest appearance to sing with Natasha Bedingfield in the Fall, and get concert tickets, transportation and hotel stay for two. All you have to do is upload a one minute video of yourself singing “Pocketful of Sunshine” – you have until April 18th!

Talking Makeup

(Marta Walsh of Talking Makeup tries a blond wig on top of her wig; double the fun!)

Since this concert was pitched as a “For Blonds Only” affair –hey, I had to dress the part, right? What do you think? Could I channel my inner blond?

Yes, relax, this is just a wig (and my roots are showing — a blond faux pas!), and I promise I went back to being a brunette imposter at the end of the show.

And don’t forget to upload your video for a chance to win free tix and to sing with Natasha. Maybe your future will be a tad..unwritten?
