For me – purple makeup has been a hit and miss love affair. A mauve lippie is just not me, and no matter how many times I’ve tried to embrace the dark violet lip that Rihanna rocked so beautifully and so glam-ishly, it’s not sung out to me:
But I’m seriously starting to warm up to MAC Spring Forecast 3 Eyeshadow palette, which houses four circles of purple magic, including shades like Mink Pink, Bruised Plum, Black Tulip and Jungle Moon.
The enter the world of purple means to leave your makeup fear at the door. You have to open your mind to the possibilities of plum, the wanderlust of a mauve and to feel the heart of a black tulip. I really love this eyeshadow palette:
The best way to layer this palette is to use the base color, Mink Pink, all over your eyelids, then layer the other shades on the inner and outer crease as you desire.
You can definitely go bolder and deeper on the eye shadows; I chose to create more of a monotone purple look, but there’s so much in this palette that allows you to create a bolder, more swarovski-style look. Look at how Rihanna rocked a glitzy purple eyeshadow at the 2008 MuchMusic Awards in Canada:
Now which purple look can you rock out? Would you sport plum on your lids?

From SilhouetteScreams:
I’m very iffy when it comes to using purple eyeshadow – for me it has to either be bright obnoxious royal purple, or a really dark almost blackened plum.
I’m really diggin Rihanna’s lip colour in the first photo, though the patchiness is bugging me!
