Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Shoot: Photo Finish Primer, Eye Liners, Cream Liner Palette

by in Beauty Archives

Each weekend, I have a professional photo shoot to showcase some of my most favorite makeup. Last week, you’ll remember that we went to Avalon Day Spa in West Village, where Christopher Drummond did a 360 on my face using his professional mineral makeup line, and MAC Cosmetics’ Superglass.

This week, I experimented with Smashbox Cosmetics and makeup from Korres. I took the subway all the way to my fabulous photog’s studio: ChangoBi. Chango is such a pro and has a Nikon DSLR that takes sharp, crystal clear pictures and she really knows how to capture makeup and skin.

We also had a model at the shoot: Zoe Prewitt. Her mother, Suzanne Prewitt is a makeup artist and helped do a stunning face on Zoe using these prep makeup items from Smashbox:

Smashbox Cosmetics Products

- Camera Ready Full Coverage Concealer ($18)

- Photo Op Undereye Brightener ($18)

- Reflection High Shine Lip Gloss

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer

We also used the Photo Finish Primer, High Definition Healthy FX Foundation ($38) and Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder ($59) for the face.

As for the makeup, we used the spectacular Limitless Liner in Peacock ($18, plus it has a sharpener INBUILT inside the cap), the rich Waterproof Shadow Liner Duo ($25), the Cream Liner Palette ($32), and the Smashbox Bionic Mascara ($19).

Suzanne Prewitt applied the eyeshadow with a Cream Eyeliner Brush #9 ($20). The way to achieve the sable colored smokey eye below on Zoe is to use softer tan tones on the inner eyelids (in this case, we used the softer colors in the Waterproof Shadow Liner Duo), then apply the warmer tones on the outer corners of the eye, and accenting the colors every so slightly with the burnt siennas and chocolate tones from the Cream Liner Palette.

As for the lips, we used MAC Cosmetics’ Pro Longwear Lip Stain Marker in Purposefully Red (a deep, red coral), and then applied Smashbox’s Reflection High Shine Lip Gloss all over it.

I was so pleased at the results because Zoe looks truly stunning. Let me know if you have any questions on how this look was created and I’m very happy to share.

This glam evening look is easily achieved (in under 20 minutes) and is soft yet sultry enough for warm summer nights.
