Amala Skincare – Beyond Organic

I'm digging anything that's organic these days, as much as I'm diggin' the new TCBY's Probiotics Ice-cream and fro-yo (for reals). I went to Barneys New York to attend the launch of Amala Skincare (Ecocert Certified–that's a BIG deal, gals), and heard so much about the brand, its healing powers the size of Yeti and why it's kept my friend Lori Diamond cryogenically frozen in age (her skin is AMAZING). Now Lori does PR for the brand and swears by the line, so I knew it had to be good. Amala Beauty is organic and natural without compromise. There are absolutely no ingredients that I could find fault with (and I studied the list ZEALOUSLY, as though I was studying for the SATs). Ute Leube, the founder, says, "When it comes to skincare, you shouldn't have to sacrifice results for responsibility." The line is actually pretty extensive, especially given the amount of work and natural concentration that goes into each bottle (can't you imagine farmers cutting up acres of crops, pressing essential oils, cramming nature into one beautiful bottle?!). Their product list is quite extensive. Their choices of Hydrate, Rejuvenate and Purify lines make choosing the right line a total snap. I received the Rejuvenate trio of products to take home and try: Cleansing Milk ($40): It's a milky, totally addicting cleanser with a smell that would make even Chandler Burr fall in love with it. It contains Cocoa Bean that is a superb antioxidant, vitamin and mineral rich Brazil-Nut, and essential fatty acids from Andiroba Seed Oil. Plus it's like my high school headmistress: no nonsense, totally devoted to the task. Rejuvenating Toner ($40): This is totally refreshing and quite sexy, like Halle Berry's appearance in The World is Not Enough. I LOVE the ingredients of Hibiscus (it softens dry lines), Licorice Root (to combat inflammation) and Cocoa Bean. Rejuvenating Face Cream ($116): Acai extract repairs the skin from free radicals, and there is a time-release moisture component with Cupuacu Butter. I love this moisturizer as much as I love my Magnolia Bakery cupcakes!
