At the Omni Fort Worth, a Customized Gourmet Experience
“You can customize bouquets for your room and even get a slice of Dr. Pepper Chocolate Cake delivered,” explains Larry Auth of the new personal touches at the Omni Hotels Fort Worth. The first location of all the Omni Hotels to start a unique program that allows guests to pretty much tailor their hotel experience, the Fort Worth location kicked off the experience a week ago.
With the luxury market growing, the new program from the Omni is one of several examples of how hotel chains are getting more high-tech and up close and personal (the savvy Peninsula Beverly-Hills is just one of the others to jump on this bespoke bandwagon, offering so many customized options from room scents to monogrammed pillow cases). Recent findings presented at the International Luxury Travel Market have showed that consumers want increasing privacy, more discreet experiences and increased personalization.
Curating a hotel stay based on your palette is a sound way to get paly with the guests.
“We also have a personal concierge and a resident sommelier,” explains Auth, noting that if you prefer that glass of Terraza de los Andes Malbec along with your meal, they can pretty much get it for you.
Auth explains that typical requests have included flowers, chocolates, and wine (and Dr. Pepper cake, of course). You don’t have to trouble the concierge or go to any special counter in particular…all these flourishes are available through your room service menu: just speed dial and enjoy.
Kids are always treated with kid gloves at the Omni (it’s one of the few hotels I’ve stayed at that offers a complimentary kids pack upon arrival), a welcome amenity for every parent. If you’re so inclined, head on over to the Sundae Bar and build your own dream sundae. Little touches walk the mile, and make your stay more memorable.
Since Fort Worth is the pilot program, it’s in the testing phase before a national roll out. If every hotel were to offer a customized check-in option, the result would surely be a stay as close to heaven as we’d get. After all, traveling is all about personal style.
