Noodle and Boo Glowology Simple Divine Gift Set

Noodle and Boo Glowology Simple Divine Gift Set

In fact, the journey from our toasty warm beds to the shower on a Monday morning is pretty much one of the most brutal experiences we can imagine. Philip B Lovin’ Hand and Body Creme

Philip B Lovin’ Hand and Body Creme

We’ve been fans of Philip B’s hair care line for quite some time. His clean and simple products give unruly hair a dose of control and shine hair without the weight of grease. That’s why we weren’t even a bit hesitant to lather up our bodies with Philip B’s skincare products. The Lovin’ Hand & Body Crème has a clean-scent packed with coconut oil, shea butter, and Vitamin E.

Philip B Lovin Hand & Body Creme

It’s ideal for those who want to keep skin soft, but hope to avoid the greasy skin and heavy scents that come along with many moisturizers. And since Philip B’s entire line has gone green recently, we’re even more tempted to use his products to keep soft and smooth hair and skin.

Available in 3 different sizes, a 6oz bottle retails for $27. For more information, visit www.philipb.com.

Banana Republic: Republic of Women

Banana Republic: Republic of Women

With December in full swing, it’s officially time to bring out your stash of stronger perfumes. Musks are too powerful and serious in the dog days of summer, but when the temperature drops it’s literally a fragrance free-for-all.

Banana Republic Republic of Women

We’ve been sporting Banana Republic’s Republic of Women around town so far this early winter; pair it with a fur coat and bright red lips in the evening to channel glamour straight out of a Hitchcock film. Packed with traditional musk tones and hints of Moroccan rose and elegant jasmine, Republic of Women possesses the quality of a designer perfume at a reasonable price.

A gift set of a 50ml bottle of eau de parfum and 50ml body cream retail for $49 on www.bananarepublic.com.

Mad for Moisture: Zo Skin Health Oraser Daily Hand Repair

Mad for Moisture: Zo Skin Health Oraser Daily Hand Repair

We heard through the grapevine that Zo Skin Health products were seriously moisturizing. So to accurately measure their strength, we decided to take on the task that makes our hands resemble a construction worker’s: cleaning the bathroom, sans rubber gloves. After our cleanse-a-thon, we lathered on a thick layer of Zo Skin Health Oraser Daily Hand repair and felt majorly rejuvenated.

ZO Skin Oraser

The clean, fresh scent isn’t overpowering and the texture isn’t greasy, so we’re confident enough to shake someone’s hand after applying. We’ve even taken to slathering a layer on our feet after a hot bubble bath. Due to our twenty-something status, we have yet to develop any age spots. However, Zo Skin Health promises to lighten and improve skin tone and age spots after prolonged use. Consider getting a serious grip on healthy skin with Zo Skin Health.

Zo Skin Health Oraser Daily Hand Repair retails for $65 on www.zoskinhealth.com.

Join the Revolution: Revolution Organics Freedom Glow Beauty Balm

Join the Revolution: Revolution Organics Freedom Glow Beauty Balm

Finding the bottom of our handbag is like searching for a needle in a haystack. That’s why we’re generally fans of any product that has multiple uses, and makes our life easier. Revolution Organics Freedom Glow Beauty Balm is our new go-to for those mornings where makeup application is done at warp speed on the subway train. An 85% organic product, the balm doesn’t irritate our hyper-sensitive skin or give that cakey, beauty pageant color. Instead, a simple dab on the apple of the cheek and a roll over the lips brings a tired face to life. Now that’s a revolution we wouldn’t mind joining.

For The Ultimate Jet Setter: Ken Paves Travel Flat Iron

For The Ultimate Jet Setter: Ken Paves Travel Flat Iron

Packing our suitcase for a weekend away always seems to involve a struggle for space. If you’re a pack rat with more beauty products than a CVS, getting ready for a vacation can be especially difficult. While many hotel rooms come equipped with blow dryers on the bathrooms walls, we’d celebrate the day a flatiron hung there as well. Enter the Ken Paves Travel Flat Iron. Yes, this is the same Ken Paves known as Jessica Simpson’s BFF and hairdresser.

Ken Paves Flat Iron

We were pretty skeptical about the flat iron, due to its petite size and our major mop of hair. However, this small flatiron wrangled our naturally curly hair wonderfully. We usually prefer to use an iron with a plate that’s at least 1.5 to 2 inches wide, just to save time and energy. However, Ken Paves’ plate is only 1 inch wide, and our straightening time clocked at the same length as our other flat iron. Point being, we were highly impressed with the product’s quality. And since it’s meant for traveling, the iron comes with a sleek, gray carrying case that’s ideal for sticking in the corner of your luggage. Finally, a flatiron that leaves us plenty of room in our suitcase! Now, if only they made a foldable blow dryer…

The Ken Paves Travel Flat Iron retails for $79.99 on www.shopkenpaves.com, but is currently on sale for $49.99.

California Baby Calendula Lotion

California Baby Calendula Lotion

With the winter months upon us and threatening germs around every corner, we’re pretty much washing our hands our day long. While constant cleansing may be the best way to prevent the dreaded flu, it also dries out our skin like crazy. We started using California Baby Calendula Everyday Lotion every evening before heading to bed, and the French Lavender scent proved to be just as relaxing as it is fragrant.

But here’s where the twist comes in: California Baby Calendula Everyday Lotion can be used as a facial moisturizer too. In all honestly, the thought of putting the same lotion on our face that we use on our hands made us very nervous. Wouldn’t it make our skin break out if it’s heavy enough for your hands? Luckily, California Baby is light enough to use as a facial moisturizer, but heavy enough to prevent drying hands. The anti-inflammatory Calendula, otherwise known as the pot marigold plant, has long been known as an antiseptic that helps to soothe skin irritations and rashes. If your skin is highly sensitive or prone to eczema, California Baby products will help to heal irritation and bouts of itching. And don’t be deterred by the name; California Baby can be used by your entire family.

Naturally Necessary: Josie Maran Plumping Lip Gloss

Naturally Necessary: Josie Maran Plumping Lip Gloss

You may remember Josie Maran as the ex-girlfriend of magician David Blaine, or the free-spirited model booted off of Dancing with the Stars. But unlike most Hollywood socialites, Josie has managed to parlay her passion for cruelty-free, all-natural products into a successful cosmetics business.

josie-maran lipgloss

We were extremely impressed by the credentials of Josie Maran Cosmetics Plumping Lip Gloss. While most plumping products achieve that bee-stung look by using artificial irritants, always the natural girl Josie chose to use Marine Collagen, which is extracted from sea plants. It didn’t smell particularly ocean-like, however; popping the tube sent a hyper-fruity kool aid scent into the air. If you’re averse to anything too fruity, this might not be the best bet for you. However, we were absolutely pleased with the gloss’ texture, which wasn’t too sticky like many others. Also, the brush applicator is top of the line. Instead of mesh wands that collect gunk around the edges, the applicator is more like a paint brush, gliding along your lips as if they were a canvas.

Josie Maran Cosmetics Plumping Lip Gloss retails for $20 each. For more information, visit www.josiemarancosmetics.com.

John Frieda Frizz Ease Line: the Patron of Obedient Hair

John Frieda Frizz Ease Line: the Patron of Obedient Hair

You’d be hard up to find a woman who isn’t familiar with John Frieda Frizz Ease products. Especially a woman with curly hair. If you’re one of our crew, you’re familiar with the early junior high school mornings involving blow dryers and flat irons and the buckets of products promise to straight your hair, or make your curls un-frizzy. But if you embrace your curls, or simply want to change it up once in awhile, it’s vital to find a product that won’t leave you looking like you’ve been struck by lightning. John Frieda Frizz Ease Dream Curls Spray has become our new favorite because unlike his heavier Frizz Ease Serums, the Dream Curls Spray doesn’t leave your hair greasy and weigh it down.

It may not be Baltimore in the 1960s, but we’re still devout fans of hairspray. John Frieda’s Luxurious Volume All-Out Hold Hairspray isn’t only meant to keep your locks in place, but to give them a shot of energy. We were pleased that it didn’t have the nasty chemical smell of some other brands, and absolutely saw an increase in our hair’s volume. If you’re looking to increase volume, definitely schedule a date with John Frieda. The Luxurious Volume line also has corresponding shampoos, conditioners, and styling products.

If chestnuts and chocolate are brown themselves, isn’t it about time us brunettes were able to smell like those delectable ingredients? We adore John Frieda’s Brilliant Brunette Shine Illuminating Conditioner for its delicious brown sugar scent, silky yet not greasy texture, and shine-enhancing results. The counterpart to Frieda’s “Sheer Blonde” and “Radiant Red” products, Brilliant Brunette products are great for color-treated hair. While it won’t turn your blond locks brown, it’s great for maintaining a healthy head of brunette hair.

Rimmel Glam Eyes Flirt Mascara

Rimmel Glam Eyes Flirt Mascara

We always get a little excited when cracking a new bottle of mascara. The possibility of achieving even longer and thicker lashes than the last bottle us gives a quite a thrill. Of course, some brands can be complete duds, leaving us with clumpy spider web eyes.

rimmel glam eyes flirt mascara

So when we snapped open Rimmel Glam Eyes Lash Flirt mascara, we were hoping to be left dazzled. Luckily, those British gals across the pond (including Kate Moss, Rimmel spokeswoman) know what they’re doing. Glam Eyes claims to give lashes that are 2 times blacker, and we were pretty impressed with the results. If you’re a fan of larger mascara wands and majorly dramatic lashes, Glam Eyes might be the perfect product to bring out the vamp in you.
